Sorry. Being a bit cheeky. But we do eat a lot of asparagus here, and often have a cocktail with dinner. I've found Negronis, Manhattans and Martinis work equally well. It's not so much the marry well with asparagus. It's more they pummel it into submission. The spirits are too strong flavored for the veggie to stand a chance. With wine and asparagus it's always an equal match and no one ever wins.

Hahah it's true, it's a death match between asparagus and wine often. I like the idea of asparagus needing to be pummeled into submission lol
