Jason, I think you are correct about strawberries being missed and dissed in cocktails today! here is my recipe for the Strawberry Fields Shrub. I've always hoped it would take off but.... Either way it is delicious!

Strawberry Fields Shrub

Prebatch version:

Mix 1 cup balsamic vinegar, 1 cup lemon juice and 1 cup syrup…chill til service. Muddle strawberry with 1 ½ oz mix. add gin and shake with ice. Strain into glass and top with seltzer.

Ingredients:

1½ ounces Gin

½ ounce Balsamic Vinegar

1 -2 strawberries

½ oz Fresh lemon juice

½ oz red berry syrup or 1 tsp strawberry jam

3 ounces club soda

Garnish:

Strawberry

Glassware

Highball Glass

Recipe:

Muddle strawberry in shaker with all ingredients except soda. Shake vigorously with ice until the outside of the shaker is thoroughly beaded with sweat and is extremely cold to the touch. Strain into the highball glasses and top each with soda. Garnish.

While not originally intended as a strawberry cocktail, you can make a Clover Club Cocktail by subbing the raspberry for strawberry (though I can’t bring myself to do it… the raspberry is amazing) 🍸

Extremely pro-strawberry-cocktail! I save all my strawberry tops from baking (if I’m snacking on them, there’s not much to save lol) and infuse them in Haku vodka for cute summer drinks. I highly recommend it!
