After years of hearing disparaging snotty comments about the Blue Nun wine and melon starters my parents' generation consumed in the socially aspirational UK in the 70s, THANK YOU for affirming my love of melons and gewurztraminer! You're right about the melon hate, btw. Those people should buy melon (and everything they can) locally and seasonally. Otherwise, it's a bit like saying you don't like steak because you had a fast food burger once. 😂
